- 70-270 exam starts the ball rolling on the
Microsoft certz routes, obtaining this certification gains
the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) status.
The 70-270 counts against the 2000 and 2003 tracks. The
alternative exam is based on Windows 2000 Professional with
the exam code 70-210. The appropriate study guide for this
exam is MCSE
Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Readiness Review
priced at just $25
It is no longer a real option to get certified
with the 70-210 over the 70-270, but is an option for special
circumstances i.e. where the students employer has no plans

STUDYING
- This exam is the lynch pin of the MCSA Certz, measuring
all aspects of managing a Windows 2003 Network Environment.
Thus focusing more on breadth of topics rather than depth.
Special attention should be paid to DNS RAS, IIS. On balance
it 'should' be the easier of the recent MCSA exams. Real
world hands on experience will pay dividends in this exams
preparation and study.
The
MCSA/MCSE Managing and Maintaining a Windows Server 2003
Environment: Exam 70-290 Study Guide and DVD Training System
at $38(37%
discount)A one-of-a-kind
integration of text, high-quality instructor led training,
and Web-based exam simulation and remediation, this book
and DVD system gives readers 100 percent coverage of the
official Microsoft 70-290 exam objectives plus test preparation
software for the edge needed to pass the exam on the first
try
The book comprises 800 pages and is accompanied
with an DVD training package.
The book is written pretty well and is easy
to read. The subject matter is appropriate for the book.
I feel that I should be able to face the certification test
after reading this book and a little practice with the exam
simulations.
it is more than possible to pass the 70-290
exam after using this book as the only study guide. The
test is really hard, and you definitely can't just pass
by reading a book (you really need experience as well),
but you do need a great study guide and this is the one.
The level of detail in this book is absolutely incredible,
and you can tell that the authors have actually tested all
of this stuff. I also really like the feature at the end
of the book where they show all of the test questions with
the answer choices and explanations of correct and incorrect
answers all in one place. This makes it very easy to review
your responses to figure out what you got wrong and more
importantly why. The accompaning DVDd could be better, but
still the package at a 60% discount represents excellant
value for money.

CONCLUSION
- The 70-290 wraps up the gaps in the skills
needed to manage a windows network on a day to day basis,
especially where troubleshooting is concerned.
Congratulations your now officially an MCSA
